Clapping Hands

Body Position: The person, typically a woman, stands with their legs spread shoulder-width apart for stability. They bend forward at the waist, with their back somewhat rounded but not hunched over excessively. This position allows them to reach into the bucket or pail comfortably.

Hand and Arm Movements: One hand reaches into the bucket or pail of water, scooping up a handful of clothes. The clothes are then squeezed or agitated by hand to release dirt and grime. The person might periodically switch hands to avoid fatigue.

Variations

The person might kneel down next to the bucket or pail for extended periods of washing, especially if the bucket is low.
